Answers to Commonly Asked Payroll Questions

1. How do I get paid?

You are paid on a weekly basis but always one week in arrears as we cannot pay you until we have verification of your hours worked. For your convenience, we pay directly into your bank account each Friday. Prompt payment is dependent upon payroll rules being followed by you.

2. When/How do I send in my Time Card?

You must fax your completed Time Card on the last day worked of every work week to ensure your pay is deposited in your account by the following Friday (If you work on a Saturday, then Saturday is the last day). Sunday is the first day of our week for payroll purposes. If you are not certain that your faxed Time Card went through, it is imperative to call Creative before 9:00 am Monday to verify. You may fax from the client site. In addition, you must submit the top two copies of the Time Card, signed by your supervisor, to Creative on a weekly basis. Get into the habit of doing so at the end of each week on your way home from work. Failure to mail these two copies will result in direct deposit being cancelled and your pay will be delayed.

3. How do I set up my direct deposit?

Simply mail in or drop off a personalized cheque marked "VOID" to Creative. A few days are required to set up direct deposit through the bank, therefore your first pay may not be directly deposited into your bank account. Any subsequent payments will be made into your account. If you do not have a personal chequing account, you may pick-up a form from Creative to be filled out by your financial institution and return it to Creative with confirmation of your bank details. Faxed cheques and forms will not be accepted.

4. When is payday?

Payday is every Friday. Because of the swiftness of automation and direct deposit, your pay may appear in your bank account prior to Friday. DO NOT EXPECT your pay to be there before payday. The money will be in your account on the Friday following the week in which you worked.

5. When do I qualify for statutory holiday pay?

You will qualify for statutory holiday pay when you have worked for Creative for 13 consecutive weeks prior to the holiday and you work your scheduled day immediately preceding and your scheduled day immediately following the holiday.

6. What do I do if I don't have a blank Time Card with me?

You simply call our receptionist and ask for a faxed copy of the Time Card. Or, Get Your Time Card here.
